Was about to order my mobo when i stumbled on this....now im having a dilemma on whether to get this or not? any opinions?:biggrin:Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3

With a single GPU / single monitor I'm pretty sure it won't benefit FSX at all. Jahman won't agree though, we'll have to wait and see...Anyway, you'll need a PCIe 3.0 CPU and PCIe 3.0 GPU too or that motherboard will work at 2.0 speeds, and there're none yet (that will be Ivy Bridge + Kepler)Might be a good option for futureproofing, if the price is ok

Well, it's actually Phil Taylor that makes the case PCIe 2.x is a bottleneck for FSX autogen :Big Grin: PCIe 3, with a 2x increase in bandwidth, will be a boon to gaming in general, but personally I wouldn't purchase a PCIe 3 MB until its performance can be tested against competing MBs with as of yet unreleased PCIe 3 video cards. But PCIe is definitely the future, so me I'm waiting for the full PCIe 3 combo (CPU, MB, video card) and of course Flight to make my next hardware upgrade.Cheers,- jahman.

Jahman or whomever, can we expect 'the full PCIe combo' by the time Ivy Bridge comes out? I'm thinking that and a couple of solid state drives might be a good thing. It will be a huge jump up from where I'm at now.Noel
