December 13, 200322 yr Dear People. In recent times I find that for some reason when I change to spot view in FS 2002 pro, the aircraft has no skin(livery) It is just the silver-grey base. In most cases this happens with add-ons, but has happened with a few default as well.Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I tried raising the CPU priority of FS2002.exe, but it only helps a few times. And this makes the system very unstable, especially when I have Squawkbox, wRXE and FS real time running as well.In another development, which may well be related, I find that I cannot get more than a few seconds (11 perhaps 19 at the best, no matter what I do. In the pastI could replay even 300 seconds, no problem. Please help me, if you know where the problem may lie.
December 13, 200322 yr I had this happen one time a long while back.Try to zoom in as far as you can with the keyboard plus (+) sign. Not the keypad, the keyboard. (The one above the equal sign on US keyboards). Then zoom backout using the keyboard - sign.If this doesn't work, I'm fresh out of ideas...BobL
December 13, 200322 yr What are your Windows performance settings? Make sure they're set to best performance of programs and NOT system cache.Cheers,Gosta.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg

December 14, 200322 yr >This sounds interesting....how do I go about setting the>Windows perfromance to best performance of programs? Please>advise...>>Thanks in advanceThat will NOT solve your problem. Your problem is simply that your computer isn't powerful enough to run FS, Squawkbox and all the other clutter you have running all at the same time. Textures are allocated on a first come, first served basis, with aircraft textures high up the list. If texture memory is at a premium then aircraft textures are among the first to be dropped to allocate resources to other programs/textures (as they don't matter when your in the cockpit which is where most simmers fly their aircraft from). They are then quite slow to be reallocated. Programs always have priority and as you have several PROGRAMS running you will not solve the problem by rtaising the priority of any one program, even FS.You may be able to force the texture reload by reloading the aircraft using the default command. You might try reloading the scenery textures using whatever keyboard command you have set for that as there may be unnecessary textures remaining in the frame buffer tht the texture reload will remove, saving the space for the aircraft textures. Other than that, it's a hardware upgrade, switch off some of the useless programs (at that moment) or turn the sliders down in the sim. Allcott
