Landing &Taxi light

Featured Replies

Hello Guys !With no exception, all my Aircrafts Landing & Taxi lights, are not really illuminating the Taxi and Runways, as if someone turn the dimmer, so taxing while in the cockpit is practically impossible, I see nothing outside ...Any idea Batting%20Eyelashes.gif CheersYair

Yeah that's normal for the default planes. You may have seen some nice addon aircraft with special effects... such as the Lotus L39:http://www.lotussim.com/features-general-landinglights.htmlA few other addons do something similar...Orbx LancairEaglesoft DA42F1 T182Milviz C310Otherwise you won't find the effect in stock models - it's required to be built into the model. So that means you can't buy an addon. The shockwave lights make a volumous light effect but don't illuminate the ground

.... yeah, The L39, this is exactly what I mean and what should be considered as an effective Landing Lights. Is there any reason why developers are neglecting such an important feature Thinking.gifYair

Well I think the effect is somewhat complicated to do well. It's not actually an FX file like the default stuff, it's a custom model. There's also some issues with the lights. They look horrible on grass runways (texture are multicolored at night), and they usually shine off into the horizon on takeoff.

Here's a great example of the issues with ground textures - this will also occur at some payware/freeware airports that use textures instead of Ry/Txy polygons.orbxll.jpg
