July 4, 201114 yr I am currently using fs9 on a computer with a core 2 duo processor (2.8GHz - E7400). My frame rates are good except when I fly into heavy clouds. They can go from 60 right down to 10.It has been suggested that what I need is a better graphics card for the clouds (I have a nVidia 430GT) What do the experts recommend ?I simply want to keep my good frame rates in the cumulus clouds ( I am using AS for weather - set already to the lowest res and quality). With no weather, my frame rates are 60 - 80fps.I was thinking of getting a gtx 560 Ti. Will this help with the cloud issue?Trevor
July 6, 201114 yr Turn down you cloud detail and/or the cloud draw distance :) good luck! Thanks, Ryan AMD X6 1090T @ 3.2 GHz =-= 8GB DDR3 =-= XFX R6770 =-= Hyper 612
July 6, 201114 yr If you don't want to spend much and the sole reason for an upgrade is FS9 clouds, I'd suggest getting hold of a second hand 8800 gtx/gts/gt. Those cards were perfect for fs9 and you'll find one for next to nothing. i7 2600k @ 5.1Ghz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz, EVGA GTX 580 @ 950MHz, OCZ Vertex II 240GB, ASUS Xonar DG, Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875W PSU, Antec KÜHLER 620 W/C, Corsair 600T SE White My FS9 Screens - http://fs9screens.blogspot.com/ Callum Richardson
