July 6, 201114 yr Dear allI have a small issue that is “I think” related to FMC, I am sure it’s me however,I thought to try to get some advices from you,1- After a missed approach, the FMC is like getting a reset so the flight plan disappears, no informationregarding STARs and I can’t perform the go around or holding pattern or ILS approachagain? So I usually perform a visual approach. So afterthe missed approach how to get the FMC to display the various importantinformation for landing?2- While instructed by ATC to climbto FL120 for example, if I adjust the requested altitude to the targeted cruisealtitude and just before passing the FL120 instead of getting the new altitude from ATCI get an instruction to hold the FL120 (usually with FSX ATC) so I readjust thealtitude to FL120 and descend to it, immediately the REF page @ FMC will notgive any information regarding the TOC or later TOD or the ETA and only shows “?????” atsome of the fields instead of figures, Is there is a way to get it to show the required information ?I hope I made it clear and thank you. July 9, 201114 yr Author Hi JohnThanks for asking,1. yesit's like it had a data reset so even origin and destination airports aremissing ?2. Initiallyyes the cruise altitude was entered at the INI. page Thank you Alaa A. RiadJust love to fly............... July 9, 201114 yr Hi AlaaarTo the second question again: Has the cruise altitude still been there after the short descend? If not set it again. The next time you shouldn't dial in your cruise altitude before the atc cleared you for that altitude. So you have not to descend again. ;) Dial in the altitude for which you are cleared and I bet you won't get that problem again. ;) I don't know the answere for your first problem yet. Best regards John Rubens

July 17, 201114 yr Hi Alaa,During reading of the MD 11 introduction I maybe got an answer for your first problem. When you performed a go around have you pressed the GA button which is located on the thrust leaver of engine number two? The GA button should be pressed when you abort the landing.
