Is there a way to request a different route to avoid weather..ie thunderstorms? I fly alot out of hubs here in the south and thunderstorms can pop up very suddenly. I know there is a divert weather but will it give you a different route?

Please see pages 146 forward in the RC43 manual about deviations for weather, restrictions, and work-arounds. You basically navigate around on your own. During your departure where waypoints are closer than 25 nm from you you would not be granted a diversion so to get it choose the extended menu item to direct-next checkpoint, select where you want to return, and then request your weather diversion.
