July 13, 201114 yr I wish to purchase (x3) 22" Dell monitors (model P2210) for my brand new TH2GO. These monitors run at 1680 X 1050 at 60 Hz. Apparently the TH2GO can only be used with monitors can display at 58Hz! Has anyone used the Dell P2210 monitors successfully in this confirguration? Any help would be most appreciated :-)
July 13, 201114 yr If you have all the components, try and see if it works, as your 50 Hz monitors might synch to 57 Hz.If not, see if you can trade-in your TH2Go Digital for the TH2Go Digital DisplayPort Edition that supports (3 x 1680 x 1050) at 60 Hz (or 59 Hz, in some cases). If your monitors don't accept DP inputs, check with Matrox to make sure the 3 outputs support passive DP-to-DVI converters (or just get male DisplayPort to male DVI cables!), pp. 22-23 of the Matrox User Guide applies.Cheers,- jahman.
July 13, 201114 yr Author Oh that's a shame I only have the TH2GO Digital edition! I don't yet have these monitors but was very keen to purchase them! Thanks for the advice and links Jahman. I wonder if the P2210's wil work at a refresh rate of 57Hz even though they are designed not to - or go with diffrent 22" monitors..
July 13, 201114 yr Author Digging a little deeper it looks like the P2210's hava a V-Sync range of 56-75 MHz. I figure I will be ok afterall. Does anyone disagree?
July 13, 201114 yr As I said, since you already have all the hardware, just give it a try and see if it works! (And if the monitors have the V-Sync range you mention, they should work.)Cheers,- jahman.
July 14, 201114 yr Author Hi Jahman perhaps you misunderstood my original post - I do not have the monitors at this stage but may purchase them if it can be confirmed that they will work.
July 14, 201114 yr Yes indeed! I should brush-up on my speed-reading skills :Big Grin: Cheers,- jahman.
July 15, 201114 yr I'd have a look here before you invest more $$....I may be wrong, but I don't think it's a simple as changing your v sync rate in your monitor settings.http://widescreengamingforum.com/forums/multi-monitor-gaming/matrox-triplehead2goYou want to make sure you can achieve full native resolution 3x1680x1050 and not all monitors can achieve that, although there are work arounds. My older Acer 22" simply wouldn't display correctly after many hours of testing, so I gave up on TH2G and went with one large LED.There is a list of ' compatable monitors ' , but I'm not sure how updated the info is.Good luck !cheersGreg
