If I can do it (I>have the computer skills of a cow) I think you can do it. :-)>>billgBillg, I tried to update my bios as I too have the Asus P4/800 motherboard. The update program would not let me select the updated bios that I downloaded from ASUS website. It told me I have to do something in DOS before this update program would work. Also I do not have a floppy drive in my computer. I only have a CDR/DVD/R.Terry
December 18, 200322 yr I've just succesfully updated the BIOS on my P4PE but with no discernable difference. Asus make it very easy. I also updated the chipset drivers, but this didn't work first time, I solved it by running XP in safe mode and then installing. John
December 19, 200322 yr John,Did you test the performance after the bios update but before the chipset drivers?Terry
December 19, 200322 yr Alot of the time it depends on what revision of the motherboard you have.. usually if its the first a bios update will fix alot of thingsive got an a7n8x delux rev 2its already got one of the latest bios on it its 1006, and 1007 is out now, but the update hardly does anything. fixes some issues ill never have
