Spoiler Question

Featured Replies

I notice that in order to get the green box ( before take off ) the spoiler must be in the armed position. ( above the RET )Deploying the spoiler can be done by pressing the Forward Slash on the keyboard. But it is also works whenthe spoiler is in the DET position. Therefore I wonder what then is the difference between spoiler armed and spoiler in the DET position ?I read the manual but came to no conclusion.Your help is appreciatedHubert Werni

Hi Hubert,The position which you mean is RET position not DET :wink:RET means retracted => Spoilers are down and not armed. When you right klick the spoiler leaver to pull it up (so that you can see the green box) the spoiler is armed. That means when you gave thrust for acceleration on the runway and something happens like a engine fire you simply pull back the thrust leaver. Then the autobreak which is in RTO mode will start breaking and the spoilers deploy. It's the same for landing. You pull up the leaver to arm the spoilers and as soon as you touch the ground the spoilers deploy automaticly.Thats the trick :biggrin:Best regards, Jonathan
