Editing Halo.bmp

Featured Replies

Hi.Does anyone have a guide or steps on how to edit halo.bmp? It seems that everytime I edit it, either lights do not appear or there are transparency issues. I am using Photoshop CS5. Thanks!

I don't know about Photoshop CS5.Is it loading the alpha channel as well?halo.bmp is an extended bmp file which means there is an alpha channel and mipmaps with it. It could be that CS5 stripping these off and then only saving the main RGB channel which would probably be the cause of your transparency issue.Try downloading DXTBMP and use it to convert the extended bmp into normal bmp files which you can edit. Then use DXTBMP to export the edited files as a 32 bit extended bitmap file with mipmaps.
