Drop in FPS with speech recognition

Hello As soon as the speech recognition software built into Windows 7 starts, my FPS in FSX drop from 34 down to 8. It is set on EN and not UK english.Hope there is a speech recognition guru out here.Windows 7 64 bitFSXi7-930 2.8 quadThanxGarryC3DOGZ

Hello GeraldIt is the one built into Windows 7 . The flight software works fine with no drop in FPS it is only when the windows program starts up the drop in FPS happens. Someday maybe everything will just work if Windows is involved.LOLGarry

Glad MCE wasn't involved.I can't comment on other products for obvious reasons.In general, if you have a dual core CPU or higher, 2 GB or more RAM, you can expect a smooth ride with speech recognition.Gerald.http://www.multicrewxp.com

I have windows 7 and have to minimise the speech tool bar that pops up at the top of the screen. That fixed the problem for me. Hope it helps.
