July 30, 201114 yr Hi,This is the 1rst time I overclock. I O/C to 4.8 GHZ stable my new FSX PC (Please see my my specs below) but I kept the memory settings to Auto in the bios because I was not sure how to manualy set it. Is it ok for performance or what do u I need to set to manualy for the memory freq etc ?Thanks- Intel Core i7 2600K -- ASUS P8P67 Pro REV3.0- Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Dual Channel Memory Kit- MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Hawk OC 950MHZ 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI Mini-HDMI DX11 PCI-E Video C- Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H60- Coolermaster Haf 922 Mid Tower ATX Case Black 5X5.25 5X3.5INT Front Audio USB eSATA No PSU- Corsair TX850W 850W Power Supply- Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64BIT ________________________________LEBOR SIMULATIONSScenery for Flight Simulators since 1998
July 30, 201114 yr If your memory is running at the correct speed then its fine. it will make little difference to fsx
July 30, 201114 yr The auto setting on the ASUS boards will have the memory running at 1333MHz. Your memory is rated for 1600, so that's what you need to change it to in BIOS. You may also need to set the timings manually to 9-9-9-24-2. Word of warning, do some stress testing again on your overclock after setting the memory, as this could cause some instability and require further tweaking. The Vengeance has been quite unstable at high overclocks for a lot of people actually. If you run into any problems you can play with a couple of voltages and should be able to get it to cooperate. i7 2600k @ 5.1Ghz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz, EVGA GTX 580 @ 950MHz, OCZ Vertex II 240GB, ASUS Xonar DG, Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875W PSU, Antec KÜHLER 620 W/C, Corsair 600T SE White My FS9 Screens - http://fs9screens.blogspot.com/ Callum Richardson
