I was rummaging around and found a pair of 3D glasses made by Eyecessories that I got a few years ago.I thought about reusing them. I'm a little confused on how to get the right drivers for this purpose.I googled this issue and got this helpful article- http://www.planesimu...cles/fsx_3d.htm which is very straightforward. Before I start i just want to be sure I'm not doing something stupid and throw my system out of whack. I'm not sure what version of video card driver I have now. I open C\Program Files\ Nvidia\Display drivers, and I see three folders:186.18195.62.257.21There's another folder named WinXP with 182.50 insideSo which version is currently installed?I thought the Nvidia control panel would give me the answer, but can't find it there. Can someone clarify this? Eytan Ornstein MS Windows XP Home SP3Intel Core2 CPU 4400 @ 2GHZ3.25 RAMNvidia Geforce 9800GT 512 MBTwo monitors; Samsung 931bf 19"(3:4) and Mag Proview 21"

In your signature you have listed "Nvidia Geforce 9800GT 512 MB" that is a video card. Is that the one that is still installed in your PC? The 182.50 - 257.21 numbers that you have listed are Nvidia drivers. If you open your Nvidia control panel then click on the help tab then click on the system information tab under components does it not list your video care? On the right under driver version it should list the curren drivers you have installed. You can also download GPU-Z and it will tell you the card installed and the current drivers installed.

195.62 is the version shown in the nvidia control panel. The site in the link above is advising-"If your version of the normal Geforce driver has a lower version number than the version of the stereo driver, update your normal Geforce driver too. You can find the latest drivers at http://www.nvidiaThe Nvidia site is currently showing the latest version for XP as 275.33.The stereo driver setup is showing version #91.31Yes the GeForce 9800GT is my working graphics card Man, now I'm really confusedEytan

The 91.31 3D stereo driver in that link is dated June 29, 2006. Is this link the same thing that you are referring to when you say "The stereo driver setup is showing version #91.31"? Your 195.62 drivers were released on November 26, 2009 so you should be okay. X91.31 vs. 195.62

Ok. I installed the 3D drivers, but they don't show up in the Nvidia control panel as the article shows.I'm at a loss.eytan

Go to Control Panel > Programs and in the list of programs what do you have listed under Nvidia for Nvidia programs? With 195.62 drivers you may not even need the 91.31 drivers installed. I have 260.99 drivers installed. While this is for Win7 under programs I have Nvidia 3D Vision Drivers 260.99 listed. In the Nvidia control panel on the left side is there a section called Stereoscopic 3D? You may have to find a tab that says advanced and click on that to get all the settings on the left to show up.

In the Nvidia control panel the steroscopic 3D does not show on the left. I remeber it did show when I had the 3D glasses working a few years ago. I have the Advanced settings ticked. Eytan. Eytan

At this time Eytan the only thing that I can suggest is that you completely uninstall the 91.31 drivers and the 195.62 drivers then only reinstall the 195.62 drivers and see if Stereoscopic 3D is listed in the Nvidia control panel. To uninstall use this guide. Uninstall any Nvidia 91.31 programs and drivers listed under Control Panel > Programs If listed under Control Panel > Programs uninstall Nvidia Physx software for 195.62 If listed under Control Panel > Programs unistall Nvidia Stereoscopic software for 195.62 If listed under Control Panel > Programs unistall Nvidia HD Audio Driver Go into Device Manager > Display adapters > Nvidia 9800GT and right click on 9800GT. Click on Properties > Driver > Uninstall, in the box that comes up if you have an option for "Delete the driver software for this device" put a check in it and the click OK to uninstall everything. After it finishes if it asks you to reboot go ahead and reboot. When it reboots it will probably install some default video drivers, that is okay. After that go to C:/Nvidia, C:/Program Files and if you have them C:/Program Files (x86) plus C:/ProgramData and delete all Nvidia and Nvidia Corporation folders. Just delete what you can find, if you do not see them then do not worry about it. Download and install Driver Sweeperhttp://majorgeeks.com/Driver_Sweeper_d6171.html Reboot into safe mode and then run Driver Sweeper. In the box on the right put a check in Nvidia - Display and Nvidia - PhysX. You should see display, if you do not see physX then do not worry about it. Click the clean button on the lower right. Reboot into windows and install drivers 195.62 and the reboot into windows. What do you see under Control Panel > Programs and what do you see in the Nvidia Control panel?
