August 2, 201114 yr Greetings Pilots, I am Zoolander64. A host over at DigitalThemePark. DigitalThemePark is a multi-gaming community of virtual citizens. It provides organization and congregation of folks through the use Voice-over IP (TeamSpeak 3), while promoting the interests of gaming, software, and hardware. All this at no cost to the citizen (Even free to host your flight group/club/team, etc). Using TeamSpeak 3, find us at ts3.digitalthemepark.com Now that the shameless plug is out of the way, I would like to invite all pilots to gather, virtually, for live conversation during the release of PMDG's 737. For the more social types, I think it may be fun to have us talking "online" through VoIP chatting as we open up and discover of our new gifts. Kind of like watching the big game at a sports bar. Not the most perfect analogy, but you get the idea. I am not talking about a multi-player session (although not out of the question), but live chat. With the release of this upcoming aircraft, I suspect a major boost overall in the Flight Simulator community. In both pilots and vendors of products. What a great time to be flying! Even for last weekend's FSBreak Fly-in there was a certain buzz in the air (literally). DigitalThemePark is the VoIP host Angle Of Attack's gatherings. Chris and Jordan lead the way this weekend. It was fun for all. For those not in the loop, check out AoA's site at http://www.flyaoamedia.com/. I highly recommend their training material for ALL pilots. For those interested, meet me using TeamSpeak 3 at ts3.digitalthemepark.com. I look forward to meeting fellow pilots. -Todd, aka Zoolander64 -Todd
August 3, 201114 yr Author Greetings again. Wow, I have meet a lot of wonderful people today from these forums and AoA. We all have that one anticipation in common right now. Anyway, I just want to let folks know of the official PR release between AoA and DigitalThemePark.http://www.flyaoamedia.com/articles/-Todd, aka Zoolander64 -Todd
August 3, 201114 yr Author In preparation for the soon to be released NGX, and overwhelming requests, we have created a DigitalThemePark "AoA PMDG NGX Discussion" room specifically to discuss among us pilots.. As the chatter has started, folks are talking about everything from the exact release hour (zulu time of course), how to best learn the systems, first flights to the first livery and airport. For my first livery and flight, I will go with Alaska Airlines(AS) out of KRNO, as this is my home airport and my wife works for Horizon Airlines (QX), part of Alaska Air. Equally excited is the training that will soon follow the release at AoA. Personally, I am darn excited to get my hands on this. This is expected to be their most extensive training to date. It looks to be split in three segments: Groundwork, Flightwork, and Linework. Learning the systems is my thing. I can see sitting on the tarmac for hours learning these systems even before taking off. In that last video from Nick's informal 737 preview, I enjoyed learning about the yaw damper and the hyd pump switches. I know he just scratched the surface. Hopefully everyone prepared their spouses to ignore all the oohs and aahs that will emit from our desks and just slide food under the door from time to time. :) You can find info about AoA 737 training here: http://www.flyaoamed...7-ngx-training/You can participate in our live discussions here: TeamSpeak 3 at ts3.digitalthemepark.com -Todd
August 3, 201114 yr Author Just to keep you all in the loop. AoA just published their NGX Staging Area.http://www.flyaoamedia.com/aoa/pmdg-737ngx-staging-area/ -Todd
August 3, 201114 yr I'm on this TeamSpeak, I see more clan tags than you can imagine, is this the right one? EDIT: It is, but I can't switch to the AoA NGX discussion channel. David Collyer
August 3, 201114 yr Author Greetings All, When you connect to ts3.DigitalThemePark.com (We have several folks in here now, including Jordan from AoA), you will be placed in the "Welcome..." channel. It has been crazy this morning and we are making are best attempt to greet each and everyone of you. I'll assign your citizenship, and you are free to move around the various channels. -Todd, aka Zoolander64 -Todd
August 3, 201114 yr Author All is well with many folks discussing all sorts of flight related material. As a side note, there are several citizens that are unable to talk due to mic issues. In TeamSpeak, most folks just need to go to Settings, Options, Capture and from their set the Capture Device as your headset or microphone. You can even click the Begin Test button to test your setup. I hope this helps. Of course, you can always pull me aside for further assistance. -Todd, aka Zoolander64 -Todd
August 3, 201114 yr Author Greetings All, Okay, it was getting a little crazy with 60+ folks chatting together in a single room. I have created 2 extra conference rooms for folks to have break out sessions in. Have fun. Again, check out the above post on checking out your microphone. I am glad to help, but this should eliminate 95% of the issues. -Todd, aka Zoolander64 -Todd
August 3, 201114 yr Author Greetings All, Nick from Angle of Attack has joined us. AoA Jordan has been around all day as well. If you have any pressing questions for Nick, he is the guy to talk to. -Todd -Todd
August 4, 201114 yr Author Greetings All, A new day. We are all getting much closer to a release. DigitalThemePark has been busy all night buzzing with activity about the 737. We even had a citizen last night helping several folks tune their FSX system for optimal performance. Along with the AoA founder and employees we also had a surprise visit from a Airbus pilot that had great knowledge discussing various topics in the flight industry. It was a wonderful listening experience. Even Jaggyroad Films represented. Today is another busy day and we have created a 3rd conference room for folks to break out into. For those that speak German, we have several folks in conference room 2 right now. Enough said for now, everyone have a great day and keep fingers crossed. Todd, aka Zoolander64 -Todd
