floating AI traffic

Featured Replies

I have a great freeware version of Bordeaux Mergignac for FS2002. The only problem I have in FS2004 is that the AI planes float in the air. Does anybody know how to bring them back down on the ground.

If it was for FS2002 then chances are the elevation is different in both sims, happens. The runway elevations are hard coded and if the scenery uses a flatten at a certain elevation in FS2002 and the runway is at a differnt elevation in FS9 then this might happen. Actually the problem is probably due to the disabling of some features on non-GMAX planes. It seems if you add a plane, and then answer "yes" to disabling the "incompatible features" warning, you can lose the landing gear. From the FS2002 planes I have downloaded and imported, most work fine with the exception of the "prop rotation" effect which gets lost. Look in your FS9.cfg for the following section<[FrameCallNoWarn]> (carrots not included) Underneath that will show the various FS2002 planes you have imported followed by a 0 or a 1.Such as Stearman Kaydet=00 means the features are disabled. If you have planes like that, change the 0 to 1 and the features will be enabled and you should see landing gear on your aircraft. (Thanks to that helpful hint from Douglas K on the www.flightsim.forums)
