  1. It's working fine on my system. I like it a lot. I hope your problems get sorted out.
  2. The more people we will get to use x-plane, the more payware developers will invest in our platform. It is very hard to go back to fsx after flying with x-plane 10 with HDR on and extended terrain rendering. Now if we get this great traffic plugin and better atc, I don't think I need to install fsx on my new rig anymore.
  3. Landing the rotate MD80 doesn't seem right. I always need to add 10 knots or more to Vref to get a normal pitch and when you flare and gently bring the throttles back it just falls out of the sky instead of any ground effect and flare. Maybe it's my landing technique. The plane looks fantastic, though.
  4. I have the same issue with the throttles getting stuck in reverse. Otherwise I am very happy with it.
  5. Make sure you save a hot and high approach about 8 miles out. The engines will spoil up in time. And turn of the FD, as the auto throttle might give you ga power as you are about to touch down when you leave it on.
  6. Besides flying is like riding a bicycle. Most adjustments you make are unconscious. So it doesn't really matter if it doesn't feel exactly the same, plus any airplane handles differently under different circumstances. Flying alone or having someone heavy next to you will make quite a difference.
  7. Doesn't it have to do with the zoom factor. I was once on a jump seat of a 737 for the whole flight. Being used to flying a pa-28 it seemed pretty fast. I also think it looks smoother because they know what they are doing. They have probably trained a lot more than the fsx 'pilot'
  8. The 320NEO is good, I am having a lot of fun with the j-32 by rollon
  9. Try slowing down to 150 before you start that steep descent. And maybe put in some flaps. And then remember you got to take your speed out before descending. So if you are high and hot on approach, slow down first. You can also google some charts and do a standard approach.
  10. I always Google metar and the airport
  11. I get better performance in the PMDG, but hardly fly it because the VC just doesn't look like a 737. So I fly Ifly. I even use the default 737 VC, which merges perfectly with the Ifly737 and use the Ifly gauges. I get very good performance this way, but still enjoy a more complex 737.
  12. I flew a full motion 737 sim into Kai Tak the other day, landed normally. All I have is 120 hrs in a piper/ Cessna and many fsx hours. It seems easier than landing a Cessna, because everything is about numbers and very little about feel, there is no flare, at 50 ft you just slowly pull the power and bring the nose to 5 degrees up, if there is a cross wind you just hit the rudder right before touch down to a align the nose. Taking off is even simpler.
  13. Did you check your trim setting, should be about 5 up.
  14. After installing the hotfix the frame rate issue (going down to 10fps) was solved. It performs at least as good as the 320
  15. I would be willing to pay for a cockpit geometry update for the NGX. Give it that narrow cockpit feel that the 737 has. Ifly didn't get it right either. I think the default 737 VC is the closest. Otherwise the NGX is just perfect.
  16. Well, the only advantage it would have for me is to be able to play p3d, but I guess with the 640 it would look very much like fsx
  17. Thanks, I will return it to the store and postpone my prepar3d experience
  18. Hi, I currently have a geforce 260 GTX in my computer. I bought a GT 640 because it is DX11 compatible so i can try Prepar3d. I didn't want to spend too much money on it because in a year or so i want to buy a new computer. I was wondering if it's strong enough to play prepar3d and if FSX will keep the performance I have with the 260 GTX? And also, will it run X-plane 10 better than my 260? Should I install it or take it back to the store? I hope someone can give me advice on this.
  19. I had a thing last night on approach to LSZH, where my RJ100 just plummeted down over one wing, I was able to catch her at 40 ft and went around. I recorded the flight with fsrecorder, and saw that no control inputs were made. maybe it's an ASN thing?
  20. If you do real good, he does a funky dance for you. Had that twice, usually I don't do very good parking.
  21. Like in real life. Do some touch & go's around the pattern, some stalls some IFR training etc. Just like a proficiency flight. If I haven't flown a certain type for a while I do the same.
  22. I have had the pause problem in many other planes as well ever since I started using ASN. It comes back to life after 5 minutes
  23. In real life the PF only looks outside and the the other one will be monitoring the instruments. It's best to keep your eyes on the road. When you are in a real cockpit you will find that looking at your instruments will take your head in such a different angle that you won't see anything outside. At 140 knots you dont want that to happen. So I usually wait for the V1 call out, rotate and only start to look at my instruments after positive rate.
  24. I really don't care about the money. I would pay another 30 if that would bring back the buildings that are so noticeable on approach to rwy 21. If they don't do anything about it they have ruined an opportunity for us to get a nice rendition of the airport. I can't fly into Lisbon with so much missing.
