It's not really a big deal but I don't believe I have ever had the GSX marshaller tell me anything other than I am terrible at parking aircraft.  All I have ever heard them say is negative comments, I don't know what a pilots got to do to get an "atta boy" or a "right on the money" comment?  Has anyone ever heard something good from the GSX grouch?

I have had a good parking exactly twice. ever.

As far as I can tell, nothing but luck was involved.

 

Perhaps the GSX parking guy needs to see a therapist

Me neither, especially at FSDT airports with the position display. Anyway, I very rarely saw pilots do absolutely perfect parkings IRL.

And here I thought my parking techniques were horrible even though I was perfectly lined up.

The issue is that the textures on the ground (the parking centreline you visually follow) is not located in exactly the same path as the afcad. GSX follows the AFCAD, not the visual line, hence you will have a discrepancy.

 

You can look at it yourself if you install the free Airport Scenery Designer and look at the AFCAD of the airport...

Talking of GSX, does anyone know how to call up a catering for the PMDG 747-400F, which does not have a service door on the right?

I once parked quite darn close to the marshaller, almost touched his human nose with my aircraft nose   Well it was his fault, he was still guiding me straight at him. Should've run him over...

If you do real good, he does a funky dance for you. Had that twice, usually I don't do very good parking.
