Those same clueless people would be just as if not even more clueless on Windows 7 as Windows 7's settings are buried in the control panel as oppose th Windows 10's simple settings.

Yea funny how benchmarks have shown that Windows 10/8/8.1 have had better performance than Windows 7. But then again going by your logic, why don't you just to go back the Windows XP.

It has been shown in some benchmarks that 8/8.1/10 have some performance improvements over 7 in some programs. Just look at this Battlefield 3 benchmark: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/windows-8-gaming-performance,3331-4.html.

Solitaire? Really? There's tons of other options. I do have control of what updates are "forced" to me thanks to MS releasing that tool (I also have the Pro version so I can have updates defered) As for the feeding others updates, to some people that's a huge bandwidth saver if you only set it to local(not really a problem to me as I have turned that off).

Windows 8.1 was a free upgrade and there's no hidden nasty stuff in that OS. MS has stated multiple times that W10 isn't a subscription service and all updates/upgrades are free.They make their income from the business branch rather than consumer branch.

Dovetail has already confirmed W10 compatibility with FSX:SE.

Then again I forced a Nvidia update to fail(restarted in the middle of the update along with setting that setting), usually Windows would just re download it and reinstall it, but it just flat out stopped showing it as a update and reverted me to my older driver. In the update log it just shows "Update Failed" and no new updates.

Strange, but that setting works for me. Maybe it MS changed it in between the time you posted this and the time I tested it for myself(just now).

You can disable driver updates in Windows 10 by doing the following: 1.Right click Start button and click "System". 2.Click "Advanced System Settings" on the left pane. 3.Go to the "Hardware" tab and click "Device Installation Settings" 4.Tick the "No, let me choose what to do" setting and then click the "Never install driver software from Windows Update." and untick the "Automatically get device app and info provided by your device manufacturer" box. And IF you stay on the insider preview builds otherwise that license will expire.(The insider preview program continues after W10 has been released.)

I have a feeling that MS might try the preview build/updates like they do with W10 and Xbox One before they send out updates to GA. The fast ring gets the updates first and tells them of any bugs, the slow ring gets it second and details anymore bugs they find, and the GA gets it last with hopefully no bugs found it the update.This method worked for the Xbox One/mobile audience(WP8.1/W10Mobile), and while I am still a bit skeptical due to the vast array of devices, maybe it will work with the W10 audience as well.

Just unpin them from your start menu. Right Click----> Unpin from start menu. I personally prefer the tiles, but then again I have a Windows Phone/Windows 8.1 and have grown to kinda like them. To each his own.

Only on Windows 10 Home. Pro version people can delay those updates. The forced automatic updates are a good thing, but only for users who aren't "power users" like us.

It's kind of like preloading a game on Steam. It most likely will download the installation files in the background and inform you when it's time to install on July 29th.

No. I just went straight into the beta and they worked just fine. As for GSX, just run the installer and it will install the new update that fixes that problem.

PMDG 777/ASN/FSUIPC seem to work for me. The only thing that I found doesn't work is GSX.

You can opt out of the beta without it messing up your addons. Once you opt out, it will reinstall the old version.

Here's a more comparable scenario, when Windows 8 was released, it temporarily had a price of $40. After a certain period of time it shot up to ~$200, the standard price of a OS. Its the same OS as Windows 7 with a few different things under the hood, but I'm still paying $40 for it. That is what this situation reminds me of.

Yes I did apply it to both of them. It the high LOD was to try and my FSX:SE/FSX get a OOM.

So I did a side by side comparison of FSX and FSX:SE using the PMDG 777-300ER. Both the same config file. Clean only major difference is that I set the LOD at 10.5(Crazy I know). Heres the test senario: KPHL @ gate A21(the first heavy gate on the list), same real world weather, just sitting there(NO FLIGHT). On FSX SE: The highest VAS I saw was 2.6-2.8 GBs On FSX:Boxed: The highest VAS I saw was 3.1-3.2 GBs
