August 4, 201114 yr Hi, I have finally got my FSX rig, I have started to build it... have the mobo installed etc. But I have no idea where to install the two fans that came with the Antec 300 into the MSI P67A-C45... I have seen 4 'Sys Fan *' connections on the motherboard but the connection I have from my fans is much bigger and has 4 slots for pins to go in... not the small three pin connections on the mobo.I have, however, found on the PSU that there is plug with the four pins that exactly match the Antec's system fans.... but there are other plugs on the wire and I generally have no idea what's what, basically. Any help here is fantastic, thank you :) Jordan Gregory MOBO: MSI P67A-C45 (B3) CPU: Intel i5-2500K @ 3.8GHz RAM: 8GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 @1600MHz GPU: NVIDIA 1GB GTX 560 @ 900MHz CASE: Antec 300 PSU: Rasurbo 650W GaminX HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
August 4, 201114 yr You need power adapters to plug those fans into the board. Otherwise you just plug in the female 4-pin (Molex) cables that your power supply has.
August 4, 201114 yr Author Okay, thank you very much :DAnd hopefully one last thing... where do I connect the optical drive to? What wires do I use? Thanks again Jordan Gregory MOBO: MSI P67A-C45 (B3) CPU: Intel i5-2500K @ 3.8GHz RAM: 8GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 @1600MHz GPU: NVIDIA 1GB GTX 560 @ 900MHz CASE: Antec 300 PSU: Rasurbo 650W GaminX HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
August 4, 201114 yr If your optical drive is SATA, there are six SATA connectors on your motherboard at the front (two facing up, and four facing more forward). I have a similar MSI MOBO, and I'm not crazy about those forward-facing connectors. If you have an IDE optical drive (don't mean to insult you - I doubt you do), you need to get a SATA one instead because your MOBO doesn't have any IDE connectors. Some photos and the manual for your MOBO can be located on its MSI product page here: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P67A-C45.html#Spec I also just got an i5-2500K with my similar MSI MOBO, and can't wait until I have FSX installed to do some high FPS flying! August 5, 201114 yr Author Thanks very much... it makes sense now :) Last thing (I promise this time ), do I plug my SAMSUNG SATA 22x Disk Drive into 6Gb/s or a 3Gb/s SATA connection? Thanks again!!! August 5, 201114 yr Author Disregard now... got it all working! I just put the optical drive into the 6Gb/s port :) Jordan Gregory MOBO: MSI P67A-C45 (B3) CPU: Intel i5-2500K @ 3.8GHz RAM: 8GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 @1600MHz GPU: NVIDIA 1GB GTX 560 @ 900MHz CASE: Antec 300 PSU: Rasurbo 650W GaminX HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
