August 5, 201114 yr Hi!I want to start by thanking those who helped me a little time ago with the motherboard and bloody CPU...I didn't loose anything! I followed a method given to me by a user ( maybe Dario Irriberri? )...I exchanged my H67 mobo and i7 2600 for a P67 and i7 2600k...it costed me around 100€...Now...about the overclocking...I will be able to do actual overclocking after mid-september...because i'll be going to Australia, and there I will get the Noctua NH-D14 air cooler....since I can't find it here in Italy...I was wondering if I could do just a liiiiiiitle bit of overclocking with my stock cooler...I was thinking of 3.9/4ghz ( It might not make much of a difference but it's a start...)While I run the Level-D767, REX2.0 ENB series and UK2000Heathrow ( or Aerosoft OsloX ) at the same time..I get between16/20 FPS, while my temperatures reach 76C...Can I manage to overclock with the stock cooler to that speed, without risking anything? Or is it better to not overclock now, and wait until I come back with the Noctua cooler? Thanks!!!! TomTheTomable
August 5, 201114 yr You could THEORETICALLY give it a mild overclock on the stock cooler, but don't! 76ºC playing FSX? that's too much. I know it's summer, but do you have air conditioning in the room? what are your ambient temps? what did you use to monitor temps?
August 5, 201114 yr Author well...I don't have air conditioning....but where my computer is, it's really cool.....I'm around 19-20C...and to monitor my temperatures I used RealTemp3.0... TomTheTomable
August 5, 201114 yr Author If I put my FPS limiter ( the FSX one in the settings )to 30 instead of unlimited...would it make a difference? TomTheTomable
August 5, 201114 yr Try Core Temp to confirm those readings are correct. Post here all your cores' temperatures. Limiting FPS won't make up for an underperforming HSF. Looks to me like they didn't install it properly or something. A friend of mine here bought a prebuilt I7 870 system and is getting temps in the high 70's on the stock cooler while playing FS9, it's not uncommon at all. If you are serious about this thing, especially overclocking, you should consider DIY when you get your overclocking HSF
August 5, 201114 yr Author Dario!I put this "cooler" :D and got a max temp of 70C... min 36C..and this was while running the Add-ons listed on my reply...i'll try core temp now and keep you updated! TomTheTomable
August 5, 201114 yr ok,this is what I got :| Wait, that VID looks too high, can you post a screenshot of CPU-Z with FSX and Core Temp running too?
August 5, 201114 yr That VID is indeed high for only 3.5 GHz. Should be hitting ~ 4.6 - 4.8 with that. Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
August 5, 201114 yr Author I just finished a flight..longish flight...( Dubai-Heathrow )....I'll post an image with CPUZ CORETEMP and fsx at the same time...So is the high voltage the reason why I have high temperatures?thanks TomTheTomable

August 5, 201114 yr ok!Here is a screenshot of FSX, CPUZ and CoreTemp... Ok, I'm lost. I thought you were yet to overclock? Do you have the stock cooler installed or the H50 in your sig?
August 5, 201114 yr Author Yes! I still have to overclock! ...I still have the stock cooler... TomTheTomable
August 5, 201114 yr Yes! I still have to overclock! ...I still have the stock cooler... That thing IS OVERCLOCKED Thomas!! to 4.4GHz Did you mess with the BIOS or is that how it arrived? you should remove the overclock ASAP
