August 6, 201114 yr I am loving the NGX. I have never experienced so much realism in FSX. The only minor bug I have encountered is that when I set the thrust to idle, via my logitech extreme 3d pro, they go to idle, then slightly advance forwards (just a tad, I haven't noticed on ground, but while landing). I just read a forum where people with this joystick were having some minor problems, but I also tried with my keyboard (f1) and the same thing occurs, thrust levers go to idle, then slightly advance forwards (to abou 34% N1). It doesn't happen on the ground. Alfredo Terrero
August 6, 201114 yr Author Any ideas whether this is a bug, or maybe a way to get around fsx and simulate ground effect? It only happens in the air. (Haven't tried at cruize) Alfredo Terrero
August 6, 201114 yr I had to re-calibrate my throttle quadrant, I still have a little forward movement of the throttles.. Calibrate again.. I have to hit F1 to get the throttles to idle.. Could be sensitivity settings as well..

August 6, 201114 yr I'm pretty sure that what you're seeing is how Approach Idle is simulated. Your hardware commands Ground Idle, but the NGX overrides it to provide the appropriate (correct) higher idle. The fluctuation you see is the momentary discrepancy between your hardware command and the NGX override.

But is this supposed to happen even while flaring. (Is engine n1 higher at flare altitude also sine it is almost on the ground)? Alfredo Terrero
August 6, 201114 yr Commercial Member This the so called flight and then approach idle. In reality you will not see movement because the fuel flow is adjusted by the EEC internally. In FSX unfortunately while numbers can be manufactured for display the desired "thrust" effect can only be achived thru the native engine.... Ergo push the throttles a little forward... C' est la vie. Same since NG1, then 744, then MD11 and now this. One does what one can do. ==================================== E M V Precision Manuals Development Group ====================================
August 6, 201114 yr Author Amazing. Thanks for the help guys. I should have read the manuals more, but I'm just too excited to read. Alfredo Terrero
