HGS Controller

Featured Replies

Just as a note, some of the liveries that I downloaded (didn't do all) did not have the HGS Controller installed ( in the center pedestal). Those liveries are:800's Winglets - Air Berlin, United, West Jet, KLM900's Winglets - Continental, UnitedOn those liveries, the click point on the left side of the VC cockpit window wasn't there either. There may be others, but of my downloads, this is what I found. Was it intentionally designed this way?? I should have also said that I discovered this during the Tutorial, which, by the way, is excellent and I had a pretty good flight. Jack

Jack, You aren't seeing the HGS system because it's not installed. I believe PMDG tried to setup the cockpit of each livery like the real world airline, or aircraft (To the extent they could find the information). That includes the HGS, and if you don't see it on certain airlines, my guess is they don't have it in the real world. If you want to use it with those liveries, just go to the FMC and turn it on. smile.png

Mike...........I kind of figured it was something like that but I wasn't sure. Hence, the post. How are things in Kansas these days? Jack

Yes guys - the liveries come with ini files that try to duplicate the real life airplane that was painted. A lot of airlines don't have the HGS and that's what you're seeing there. If you want the HGS (or anything else) just hit MENU on the CDU, go to PMDG SETUP/AIRCRAFT/EQUIPMENT and turn it on.

Hot. I must be getting used to it because the 100+ heat index we currently have isn't bothering me at all. :(

Mike/Ryan..........Well, I'm cuurently on an Island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and we've been struggling to hit 70F this summer. Today was a bonus. We got to 72F.Phoenix? Kansas? I'd "croak". I don't know if I'm ever heading back to New Jersey. My son says it's not that much better than what you guys are having. Jack

Ryan.....................and by the way, a couple of edits in the printed tutorial:Page30 - bottom paragraph, says press LSK 6R - should be press LSK 5R to remove speed and altitude restriction. Kind of intuitive when you look at the screen though. Page 47 - bottom of page, says green MA light shows beneath Capts. FD switch - for me was actually above above. Now I don't know if these items are different for different liveries, but if that is the case there should be some comment about that. Actually not that big a deal, just something I ran into while doing the tutorial just like the lack of the HGS controller on some liveries.Shows that one size doesn't necessarily fit, all as they say.
