August 7, 201114 yr hi nice job on the ngx, anyway i noticed an issue with the audio that i was curious about.(first of all let me say, it's very well done!!! spectacular work on the engines) when i first load the plane cold and dark in the cockpit, it is very quiet. however, if i switch to an external view, i hear a whine (maybe the apu?) even though the plane is completely powered down. even stranger, when i switch back to the cockpit, i hear a new sound which sounds kind of like rushing wind and an engine whine of some sort. it doesn't seem to be positional, more like a 2d sweetener layer. this sound seems to stay on even with reloading panel state. however, pausing the sim will cancel it, and on unpausing it does not return. doing this also seems to prevent it from playing on subsequent view changes from interior to exterior. i dont know if it's permanently stopping it, or just stopping that particular instance, i think it sounds like it's meant to be playing when the engines are running or something. EDIT= on further investigation, i think it's the cockpit sound that plays when you switch the apu generator busses on.anyway back to flying! cheers-andy crosby
August 7, 201114 yr Hi Andy, Just incase - part of your observation suggests the classic FSX bug which messes up the sounds when you change views - I recommend pressing "Q" twice after changing views - this resets the FSX sound system and usually cures wierd engine sound playback behaviour.
