August 7, 201114 yr Lads & Ladies,I'm experiencing a weird issue. Maybe I'm missing something here. When all three tanks have fuel and the center tank is used up, the engines just shutdown rather than switching over to the L/R tanks. No warning either from the center tank being depleted. All pumps are on. Should this not happen automatically? I can switch the center tank pumps off prior to empty and it will use the L/R tanks but I have to catch this before the engines shutdown. Doesn't make sense.Any ideas?Thx,Todd. Cheers,Todd
August 7, 201114 yr Are you using a flight other than the default ultralight at Friday Harbor as your startup flight in FSX?
August 7, 201114 yr Jeez, can you restart the engines after they shut down? I have a bad habit of forgetting to shut off center tanks before they are empty. I have been good so far in this one, usually catching it before they 0 out, but I have only done it twice. On my 3rd trip now where I am using center tanks. If you can restart them, I will try it out and let you know if mine does it to. Rick Butler Rainbow Lake Alberta, Canada
August 7, 201114 yr Author Yes, my startup flights are usually always different.I tried to restart them while in mid air but no go. I did a few tests just sitting on the apron, engines on and idle and set the center tank to like 10lbs of fuel and the L/R tanks to 1000 and observed. Sure enough the engines shutdown when center tanks are empty. Other pilots in my VA do not have this issue with this plane. Head scratcher... Cheers,Todd
August 7, 201114 yr Weird, when I get where I am going, I will try it. Don't want them to shut down now, and lose 2 1/2 hours of flying......... Rick Butler Rainbow Lake Alberta, Canada
August 7, 201114 yr Yes, my startup flights are usually always different.Okay, try something for me. Go to your FSX.cfg file, find the "situation" line and delete everything after situation. This should cause your startup flight to go back to the default. Then try your test with running the center tanks dry and see what happens.

The only line I see with this under [uSERINTERFACE] is: SITUATION=C:\Users\todd\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\Default-1 You want me to delete just that line? Cheers,Todd
August 7, 201114 yr The only line I see with this under [uSERINTERFACE] is: SITUATION=C:\Users\todd\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\Default-1 You want me to delete just that line?Delete every thing after "situation=" You might be to delete the entire thing, but I'm not 100% sure there so I don't want to tell you to do so. I'd also suggest making a copy of your FSX.cfg file just as a backup. Nothing should happen, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Just for reference, I'm suggesting this because someone had the same center fuel tank issue during beta. When he deleted that information to go back to the default FSX flight, the issue went disappeared.

August 7, 201114 yr Yep, that's the line. Just delete everything on that single line, after the equal sign. Make sure you don't accidentally delete other lines. I just tried it on my computer to confirm, and this does work to go back to the default flight.
August 7, 201114 yr Author Perfect! That worked. Now I get the "Fuel" caution light when depleted and it automatically starts using the L/R tanks. Thanks for the help! Cheers,Todd
