FMC Payload passenger loading and question about maintenance option

Recommended Posts

Hello PMDG- Team, first of all I would like to thank you for this amazing 737. I have never had so much fun before in FSX ! Although I also bought your other planes for FSX this one is truly brilliant and for that price it is just awesome to have such a true simulation of the real plane on the computer at home. Anyway I have two questions. The first one is as follows: When I load up passengers via the FMC payload screen I always have the number I enter added plus 7. For example I would like to load 85 pax, I type it in and click the line select but it loads 92 pax instead of 85. No matter which livery or what number I type in, it also goes above 175. I do not know what could cause this but as I find it strange I better tell you maybe you have an idea what that could be. The second question is about the maintenance page and the option service based failures. The hours to the next service start at 250 and as I fly they constantly decrease with the time I spent flying. I was wondering if the number counts down for each livery indpendantly or if the whole plane( or better to say model in this case with winglets) is affected by the counter. I am wondering because 250 hours is a lot to fly until service is necessary and if it only counts for each livery you will need some month to even get close to service with one livery only. The other thing is is there any option to increase the wear on the plane I mean to double up or to multiply by four the speed with which the counter runs down from 250 hours to 0? Anyway this feature is a great idea and I like the idea behind it ! Any help or answers would be great, thanks again for that great plane ! For anyone who has performace issues, I run an E8400 at 4GHZ , 4GB of RAm and an HD5870 with only autogen at normal external frame limiter to 30 and almost 25 to 30 frames all the time with 8X SSAA and totally 30 frames with 8X MSAA. That is truly an outstanding performance ! Thank you PMDG ! Best regards Philipp Eckardt P.S.: I had to create a new account because I do not use my old email adress anymore and therefore could not recover my old password for the account I used before as I also forgot it. So I decided to make a new one, so this is actually not my very first pos t;-)

On the maintenance question, IIRC, the manual states that hours are maintained per airframe, not an overall number for the entire fleet. It really doesn't take that long to burn through those hours...if you start doing some long flights on a particular airframe. I also seem to recall reading in here somewhere (haven't found it in the manuals yet) that the airframe gets dirtier as you fly more and more..could swear that the aero marks around rivet heads on wing are getting longer. :) Noticed the PAX loading oddity as well, I just account for it (I use Air Hauler and have to futz with the loading to get the weights right).

Hi, thanks for your answer, I did not see the pages in the manual pointing at the hours maintained per airframe at first, but I looked it up as you wrote where to find it. Thanks for that. I guess I will have to make some longer flights then to get those hours down ! As I am not the only one with the Pax oddity I can be sure that nothing went wrong during installation. Thanks again and have fun flying ! Phil

Instead of starting a new topic..I use Air Hauler and can't wait to get the NGX in my fleet..since you brought it up Burns (or anyone else), just wondering how the interface is between AH and the NGX. Thanks =)

I noticed the pax number not corresponding to what was entered as well. I don´t know what is going on there.

Service and maintainance - I do not want to go through anything each flight. Is there an option to get a summery of the problematic systems that might need treatment before flight?
