August 9, 201114 yr I've been flying the NGX pretty much non stop since friday - it's wonderful, however there are a few little niggles I've got. There are a few issues that I can see with the FD and AP in the landing and approach phase.Firstly the FCOM vol. 2 says that when landing, the FD bars should dissappear from the PFD at 50' RA. Currently they don't, neither in manual flight nor autoland. Unless this is a customer option I'm guessing this could be investigated by devs... Also, I'm not quite sure whether the logic for displaying 'SINGLE CH' in the AP status display is correct. Should it not display this whenever VOR/LOC & G/S are engaged with only NAV 1 tuned and 1 CMD channel. Testing today with NAV 1 tuned to ILS and CMD A only engaged the self test didn't happen at 1500' (no flashing diamonds etc), the status announciator stayed at CMD all the way to touchdown..... I know it's a bit pedantic to sift through the manual and find these little faults - NGX is really special otherwise.... Adam Turley
August 10, 201114 yr Author bump sorry to persist but have devs seen this? I still think the FD is modelled slightly wrong here...

Adam Turley Sorry it's late for me but from memory SINGLE CHANNEL is a not an AUTOLAND mode- manual only landing - you must manually DSC the A/P by '50 RA As for the F/D I would need to look this up for both AL and MAN modes. August 10, 201114 yr Author As for the F/D I would need to look this up for both AL and MAN modes. Page 215 of FCOM v2 under 'Flight Director Display' It says 'the F/D has no landing flare capability. F/D command bars retract from view at approximately 50RA on an ILS approch.' As I say, I can't see them doing this... Adam Turley
October 3, 201312 yr I have the same problem...the flight director doesn't disappear at 50 ft during a normal landing ( no autoland), it remains visible at ground after touchdown. No problem with autoland, the FD disappear at 50Ft Ra. Any solutions?
