August 14, 201114 yr Hey Bill, ya I had mine turned on, but I was thinking maybe he didn't have his turned on. Quite a common occurrence on VATSIM really. I flew a flight to vegas last night, and there was a guy sitting on the ground there, and he left his on, and it showed up, so I think it is all good. Problem is, I hardly see anyone on to test it out. Hmmm, it isn't really clever enough to know whether another a/c is squawking or not, if traffic is there then it should just pick it up whatever. FSInn detects it and then passes that info to the aircraft. The squawk info is picked up by ATC clients but they still see a blip even if it's not squawking so you should be able to see traffic as close as that. The only reasons that I can think of for you not seeing traffic ion TCAS is a) Your NGX TCAS filter precluded it, b.That you'd accidentally pressed the "MP" key in the FSCopilot Control Panel which switches multiplayer traffic off or c) There was a server split on Vatsim which can make some traffic visible and others not depending on which server they are connected to. They're quite rare but it does happen. (That does assume of course that you had your transponer on at least TA and the TFC button pressed!). Did you have visual on the other a/c? If so then that should rule out c) above. Did the "invisible" traffic appear on FSInn's radar? That also picks up everything squawking or not. Bill Casey
August 14, 201114 yr Author Marc, If you have set the TCAS to show all traffic then it will show ALL traffic not matter if it is close to you or not they were all on the Johannesburg apron though? Marc M.
August 14, 201114 yr Departing on a Vatsim group flight this afternoon I found that none of them were on TCAS but I did have visual on them. I hit the test button on the transponder panel and once the test was complete they did all appear. How strange, anyway, try that Rick. Bill Casey
