If you mean the VNAV button, when it won't engage it is usually because there is something that you did not do, and more often than not it is because you did not press the exec button for the init page. Another one is not setting the Vref buttons on the takeoff page (although they are shown you have to click them to engage them). Henri

IF you're asking "How do you display vertical situation display on the lower part of the ND?" like this: Then the answer is to put the EFIS control unit's mode selector to "map" and press CTR a few times until it appear, the knob on the bottom left here: I hope I got your question right and that it helps. Vertical dings? I think Tore just gave you the answer. It may need to be activated in the aircraft options if not already done so...
