2D Panel Landing RWY view, Stab Trim Animation

Recommended Posts

Hello all NGX operators/owners Two questions before I buy: 1. Can you see the runway at MLW (max landing weight) and regular approach speed? I am a 2D flyer and many sim planes seem to suffer from this, abviously not an issue in real life. 2. Is the stab trim animated? This too, even though it is trivial, some sim airplanes depict this and some don't, even from same releases/families of aircraft Thank you for your time in advance,John

I noticed that it sometimes is hard to see the threshold on landings at any landing weight. It seems I need to be taller or have the dashboard lowered 1 inch on the monitor. The 747 has the same issues. I always move the view down 3 times on landing CTRL SHIFT Q or CTRL Q (can remember which is which) , OR I simply come in a bit high and dive to get the nose down so I can see the runway. Both are not ideal, but I still can stick a good landing - sometimes blind and not seeing the runway for the last 5 seconds.

Hello Paul, Thank you for your suggestions. I do want to mention one thing: if you are having this kind of problem with the queen (PMDG 747-400) then you are definately doing something wrong. The queen works wonderful in 2D as I have used it for a while now. I suspect that you either land over MLGW or severely out of balance load. If there is an issue this 2D visibility, I will stick to the queen... John
