Maybee a stupid question but I usning heading button/setting when direct the plane to fly the actual course etc given bt ATC etc. What/when do we use the course button?

Course is for flying VOR radials or your destination runway heading. So regardless of your heading as you are flying your course should be set to the degrees of the runway you intend landing on.Course is used in conjuntion with your Nav radios. You tune them to the ILS frequency for the runway.You need both radios and courses set the same for an autoland. Make any sense ? Fred.
