NGX Squawkbox Integration Issue

Featured Replies

I tried a flight on VATSIM with the NGX today and I noticed some problems with the communication between the two or rather lack thereof. I was expecting the NGX transponder to change the status of the SB transponder as well, but this didn't seem to be the case. Doesn't the NGX transponder set the appropriate offset flags for SB to pick up? Also it seems there were some issues with COM2. If I set a freq on COM1, SB detected it as it should and connected me to the appropriate channel, but if I did the same on COM2 or COM3 nothing happened even though SB supports dual COMs.

That's funny I wrote a ticket about this last night... Angel.gifAbout TCAS, not COMMs.

Best regards, Fritz ESSONO

Thomas, Dual comms works - on the Number 1 Audio Control Panel - Select the volume control for VHF2 - you'll tune the frequency in the VHF2 radio in squawkbox. I'd really like to see transponder integration too - but I'm aware it's not a high priority for PMDG right now. Hope this helps Cheers, Chris.

Thanks for the tip Chris, it worked like a charm.I guess it's not such a high priority issue, but I'm a bit surprised by it nonetheless. I was under the impression that ensuring compatibility with squawkbox's transponder was pretty much standard when making a new plane add-on these days. Besides, it's not that complicated as I understand it. If I'm not mistaken all that is needed is for the plane's gauges to set certain offsets on FSUIPC when the transponder is set, no?
