CTD fix? Please try this...

And....Does the terrain.cfg edit prevent the crash? :)

I just tried the scenario you mentioned and I also suffered CTD for the first time!!!! (I thought my setup was flawless!)I tried the edits you suggested in the terrain.cfg file and sure enough, the scenario loaded without a hitch!I looks like you're on to something...James

Here's an interesting piece of information.I just loaded FS9 on one of my test machines, a PIII 1GHZ with 768 MB of RAM and a GF2 MX with 32 MB of RAM. I changed nothing after the install and started a flight as suggested. CTD straight away. Checked the Terrain Texture Size - it was set to medium. Set it to low and still got the CTD. Now on another machine AMD XP1900, 1GB RAM, GF4 Ti4400 I can load the flight with Terrain Texture Size set to medium and low. I am starting to think that this is a "horsepower" related problem. In all reality it will probably end up being a combination of a number of factors.--qnh

What happened after you editted your terrain.cfg file?

I'll have to try that tonight - last nights testing was terminated by that dreaded sound:"Honey can you come and have a look at this for me...." :-)--qnh
