I am using fsx win7. I am having trouble when flying turboprops,Dash8 ect. When I am on the ground the aircraft wants to move forward and I have to keep the brake on. when I taxi the speed goes up very fast and I cannot control it. On landing , the same problem to get the speed down. I am using a logitech wingman 2 joystick . I must be doing something wrong. Would appreciate some advice.

Have you tried recalibrating your controls to see if it corrects the issue? Do you have the latest drivers for your joystick that work with Windows 7?

Check the "Propeller Control" settings. This setting is controlled by

  • Ctrl + F1 - Low RPM
  • Ctrl + F2 - Decrease RPM
  • Ctrl + F3 - Increase RPM
  • Ctrl + F4 - High RPM

or you may be able to set an Axis on you controller to control the setting. If the aircraft starts with the High RPM set then you may be getting more thrust that needed which will make it run too fast on the ground. If the setting is Low RPM then you could need more throttle to get it moving so you will have to experiment with the setting to get one you are comfortable with.

Well the question is which dash 8 are you attempting to master? If it is the Majestic Dash 8 I strongly suggest that you visit the forum and search. All the question you ask have been answered. However it is advised that you start with a default aircraft like the cessna and then load the Dash. If you are using other complex aircraft that may-be the fix as well. The Majestic site also has a few minor adjustments that you can make to the aircraft to help "creeping" issues while the engines are running at flight idle on the ground. If this does not work attach your full name in a message explaining your problem to [email protected]
