August 25, 201114 yr Hi, can somebody help me clarify this switch question I have. On page 33 of the introduction pdf, under the "For switches that move up/down the following applies:" section, it says that you could use either the left/right mouse button or turn the mouse wheel up/down to move the switch up/down. I think I remember being able to use the mouse wheel to flip switches up or down after the initial install of the 737NGX, however, after installing the hot fixes 1, 2 and 3, I can use the mouse buttons but can't use the mouse wheel to operate switches that move up/down or left/right. Was this feature left out of the 737NGX's hot fixes, am I reading the intro wrong, do I have a bad install, are the Red Sox going to the WS...? Thanks in advance for any help on this matter, CucoSan Juan, PR Cuco Negron San Juan, PR PATCO lives!!! Air Traffic Controllers tell pilots where to go!
August 26, 201114 yr Author Somebody... anybody... Can somebody fire up the NGX check any switch in the cabin, suggest the dome light, and try to move it up or down using the mouse wheel. Now tell me if you are able to make it go up or down. Please, Thank you Cuco Negron San Juan, PR PATCO lives!!! Air Traffic Controllers tell pilots where to go!
August 26, 201114 yr Only knobs can be turned by the mouse wheel. August 26, 201114 yr Sorry to say that I tested mine and the scroll wheel of the mouse works with the cockpit knobs just fine. I have the white full hand indicator and if I roll the wheel up toward to screen the knob turns clockwise and if I scroll down toward me the knob turn counter-clockwise. I tested the one in the left screenshot. I do not have any hot fixes and my NGX worked with the first download and no problems that keep me from enjoying it. I think it is just for knobs and not flip type switches. I did do some more testing for you. I checked most of the flip type switches and it takes either a left click or right click of the mouse. The wheel will not flip a switch on mine. It turns the rotary knobs as intended. Knobs in the left screenshot - Wheel, Switches in the right screenshot - Left or Right Click of the mouse to operate. August 26, 201114 yr Author Thank you, NGX, however, on page 33 of the introduction pdf (if I'm reading it correctly) it says that both the knobs and switches can be moved with either the mouse buttons or the mouse wheel. Is anybody from PMDG able to confirm or deny that the info on page 33 of the intro is no longer applicable. Thanks Cuco Negron San Juan, PR PATCO lives!!! August 26, 201114 yr I'd suspect that they changed it. It makes more sense having a wheel TURN something and a click flick/press something Di Agron Dell XPS 15 L502X | Intel i5-2540m @ 2.60GHz | 4GB DDR3 1333MHz (2x2GB) | nVidia GT525M | Seagate 500GB 7200RPM | 15" 1366x768 | 23" LG 1360x768 | Got a hardware question? August 26, 201114 yr Author Thank you, Raymar, you have brought back my sanity, for a moment I thought I was loosing my mind over this silly mouse wheel thing :) I installed the 3 Hotfixes, since then I lost the mouse wheel function on the switches, not the knobs. The knobs work fine with both the mouse buttons or the mouse wheel. Thanks Cuco Negron San Juan, PR PATCO lives!!! Air Traffic Controllers tell pilots where to go!
