Monitor Size Question

Featured Replies

I have dual monitors a 24" and a 22". I was looking at a 30" monitor. My question is:Will a 30" monitor give me less performance than a 24" - assuming the resolution stay the same? Or will I need to UP the resolution on the 30"'? which will impact performance? Will it be a big hit to fps.

With a 590, you have no issues with monitor sizes.

In any case it's not the monitor size that counts but rather the total pixel count (vertical x horizontal). Cheers, - jahman.

I saw no difference in FPS from a 21.3"@ 1600x1200 to a 30"@ 2560x1600

Hi Glenn, just out of curiosity, what kind of antialiasing are you running at that res?

I started at my usual 8xS with 2x SGSS on the transparency AA (kills shimmering) Now settled at 4xS with 2x SGSS. Looks as good as 8xS at the new resolution.

Thanks! I have it at 8xS AA and 2x Supersampling right now. Works pretty good except for some major cities / airports. I'll play around with it some more.
