How best to use a laptop w/ my gaming rig

Featured Replies

Hello all, My wife has graciously allowed me to use her Dell Latitude 620 with my computer to enhance my flight simming. smile.png I'm wondering how best to use it... What programs are best to run on a laptop? My add-ons are listed in my siggy below. I think of ASE first, but can Radar Contact run, FSPassenger, AI? And if I ran RC4.3 on the laptop, would the dialogue box and sound come from the laptop? What's the best way to connect? I have a wireless router with 4 ethernet slots in the back. My main rig is plugged into that and I could plug the laptop into that as well, or connect via wireless (Linksys Wireless-G router). I can re-post this question in the hardware forum if the answer is complicated. Do I need WideFS? I have FSUIPC. Finally, would it be worth it? What kind of benefit have others seen who have done something similar? Thanks much, Don

You can run Navigation tools like FSmap , fs navigator or FSUPIC and a few others , if you are comfortable using Wi-fi without any lag then it's fine, the only benefit is allocating the above mentioned tools or add ons to the laptop so there won't be much load on the FSX machine and easier to check your notes and charts and stuff.
