  1. I had this happen. There is a “home cockpit” setting that needs to be turned off. I can’t recall where it is in the menus and don’t have access to my computer, but it got turned on in my setup on its own. Maybe after an update. The setting keeps the view from changing with mouse clicks.
  2. Thanks, it is working for me now. Appreciate the quick response.
  3. Hello, the iFly Max 8 just came out for MSFS 2024. They warned that 3rd party apps might not work, but I did try and when MCE connects the top of the interface window says "Copilot Listening...On ATCCOM.ATC_NAME...". Then, when I issue a command, the co-pilot repeats it back but nothing happens in the cockpit. Do you know if that is an issue with the plane or is it something with my MCE install? I uninstalled the old version through windows and downloaded the latest from the link I had (it is version 3.1.31) and installed in the default location. Thanks. PS - I have ATC disabled
  4. FYI, I just loaded up the Cessna Longitude in MSFS 2024 and it was the same behavior as the -200ER. Some commands would work in one direction, but not the other. A lot of commands just didn't work at all.
  5. I can verify that I bought the standard version of MSFS 2024 (I checked on Steam and it lists the prior purchases) and I have the new Longitude and CRJ. I know it is the new Longitude as it has the walk-through cabin and isn't just the 2020 version. According to steam, I bought a Premium Deluxe Bundle of MSFS2020 back in 2021. I did not do anything in particular, those planes were just there in the sim.
  6. There is a "-" at the top of the window, near the "x" button that will minimize without closing. If you hover over the buttons, it should say "minimize" and "close". If this isn't there, then maybe something is corrupt with your install.
  7. OK, I tried again with the same results. Nothing really works...I could say "set flaps 5" and that would work, but "set flaps 1" I got the response that it was already there. Same with "flaps up". Like you said, it seems that MCE doesn't know where anything is set which is why the first command worked but the subsequent commands don't. I opened a ticket with PMDG and very specifically asked if the SDK worked for "read" and "set" like the -300ER, and I explained what I was trying to do using multi-crew experience. This is the response I got: "Hello Donald Any changes would have been distributed with the 200ER on release. My suspicion is the issue is actually related to the SU2 update as that seems to have broken some functionality in that area." I just don't remember exactly when I tried MCE relative to the SU2 beta release, so I can't say for sure if I tried it on SU1. I jumped back and forth with SU2 beta.
  8. Gerald, honestly, I have not done anything regarding this. I needed to re-learn how to fly the 777 so I've just been doing everything solo. I also thought I'd let things settle down. SU2 just became official and Randazzo said Asobo changed the SDK so PMDG had to make changes to the 777F coming out and the -200ER. That should be Monday, so I'll take a look at it after that. I can confirm that there are two 777_Options.ini files on my computer. One is in the MSFS 2020 appdata folder path that you described. The other was in the WASM folder path for MSFS2024 that I posted earlier. The only thing under the work folder you suggested for MSFS 2024 was a community folder and within that an asfs folder. That is all.
  9. Yes, exactly, ha ha! I had tried that before and it didn't work so I thought there was more to it. I just tried again and figured it out. Thanks for the reply!
  10. I know that people can reply to a specific post in a thread, and that post will show up at the beginning of their new post. This makes it clear that the post is in direct reply, even if several others posts have been made since. How is that done? I don't know the steps to have the post I want to reply to show up at the beginning of my post. Thanks.
  11. OK, I found the 777_Options.ini file for the -200ER and modified accordingly. FYI, it was in a different path (steam version): C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\WASM\MSFS2024\pmdg-aircraft-77er\work I got MCE to connect, but only some commands work. Overhead panel lights don't work, but I said "flaps 5" and that worked. "Flight director on" also worked. Set altitude and set heading moved the dial, but not to where I said. autobrake didn't move, spoilers didn't either. I'm just using single commands and not trying any voxscripts. Thanks. I won't post here anymore as I know this is the new planes thread and not a problem solving thread.
  12. I still can't get this to work in MSFS 2024 with the 777-200ER. I reinstalled as you said and I can connect to the plane. It shows at the top that it is the 777-200ER GE variant. But when I ask the co-pilot to perform a task, he repeats it back to me but it just doesn't happen in the cockpit. Do you know where the EnableDataBroadcast=1 needs to go? I can't find any reference to an SDK in the installation files. Thanks.
  13. Hello, I just got the PMDG 777-200ER for MSFS 2024. MCE connects to the plane and the co-pilot boards, then I tried importing the scripts I wrote for the 777-300ER in MSFS 2020. When I run the scripts the co-pilot announces he is starting, but nothing happens in the plane. I was hoping it was similar enough to be able to port over, but maybe not. Should it work? Or is an update needed? Thank you. --Don
  14. I know that when I activate an approach from the procedures icon in the GTN unit, it will send me to the faf (final approach fix) which in your case is DAMKO. But I thought that if you click on the MOMBI in the approach and use "direct-to" it will send you to that waypoint and start the approach. You can delete the MOMBI in the flight plan, but you will head to the destination airport after you pass PILOS until you use "direct-to" to MOMBI. I have struggled with this as well! Especially for vertical navigation. Good luck.
  15. Hello Jarnie, this is why I suggested you keep MOMBI in your flight plan even though it is in the approach. Then on your way to MOMBI you can click on the MOMBI in the approach and activate the approach that way. You said you did not want to activate it mid-flight but I believe that is how it is recommended to be done. At least I watched a Garmin you-tube video that suggested that. The other thing you can do is delete the airport now that the approach is loaded. Then, I believe after you pass PILOS you will directed straight to the faf, but not sure. I haven't tried that in a while. I don't believe that is recommended. --Don
  16. From my experience, this is fine. Once you pass PILOS and are heading to MOMBI, you can activate the approach by highlighting the second MOMBI (the one that is part of the approach) and use "Direct-to". That will activate the approach. I am not trained in using the GTN, though, so I'm sure someone with actual experience IRL will jump on here soon.
  17. I bought the Standard version and it came with the Longitude and the CJ4. I purchased back in November just a week or so after it launched. Did they change which planes come with each package as I've seen people say you don't get the Longitude with the base package but I did.
  18. When I flew into KMRH, the METAR did say "mist" and I had no visibility and I had a hard time even seeing the pulloff on the edge of the runway. Similar to what @Cpt_Piett described, I could only see the taxi line directly in front of the plane but nothing else. Other times, when I've had "light snow" with a 3000 foot ceiling it has been a white-out with zero visibility when landing. So there has been some precipitation each time it has happened, regardless of the ceiling. Thanks for the feedback, I was just curious if this was in line with what others are experiencing.
  19. Wow, great video! I felt my blood pressure go up just watching them trying to land at the end, and I'm just sitting at my desk! My original post was because I had run into the issue 3 times in a row where the conditions should have been OK but had 0 visibility when I go to the destination airport. Maybe I just had bad luck, or maybe Active Sky makes things worse, not sure. Or maybe it's hard doing GA flying in the winter!
  20. Thanks Janc. I changed the title to specify Active Sky to focus the question more.
  21. Fair enough but it just changes the nature of the question. Does Active Sky cause unreasonable visibility conditions? I have used Active Sky since FSX and don't recall this same situation. Especially now it just used pre-sets in MSFS.
  22. Hello all, I have been flying in MSFS 2024 since November and have run into an issue several times this winter (U.S.A). When I plan a flight I check the METARS and the conditions at the destination might be Marginal VFR or IFR, but when I arrive I can't see the runway until my wheels hit the ground. I am flying the Flysimware Learjet with Active Sky. I know in the FSX days that it was a common complaint that the sim couldn't really do IFR conditions, but this seems to be an opposite problem. Just a few minutes ago, I flew into KMRH which had 5 mile visibility but a ceiling of 1300 feet. But again, I never saw the runway and just pulled up at the last second based on my altimeter reading. Or is this just an Active Sky problem? Would like to know what others are experiencing. Thanks.
  23. Thanks, this is really helpful. I got the on/off to work as you described with the 0 and 1 value. It is also helpful to see the behaviors in developer mode. I am still figuring out how to get it all to work as expected, but some of that is likely figuring out how to operate the plane properly or at least how it is modeled. But you have put me on the right track to figuring it out.
  24. Hello, I am trying to set up my Honeycomb yoke for the above plane but am struggling with how to do the maneuver roll pitch switch in particular. It is a button that is supposed to be held down while changing the pitch, then released. I turned on the "watch events" feature in AAOs and found the event that is triggered when I press the switch on the yoke and I assigned that event to my own yoke. It seems, though, that once I press my button the sim thinks that switch is being held down; as though it is turned on but I can't turn it off. I know there is the ability to add an event when releasing the button but I can't find an event that turns the maneuver switch off. I can only find the on event. I have a similar issue with the nose wheel steering switch. I can turn it on but not off, but that isn't really an issue as it turns off automatically at take-off. Looking for some guidance on how to best do this. I have not found any templates or scripts for this plane with my searches. Thanks.
  25. I have this issue, it’s as though the sim thinks the piston is just a livery of the turbine. I use add on linker and activate either the turbine or piston, not both, depending on what I want to fly.
