Can't use iFly Max 8 with MCE in MSFS 2024

Featured Replies

Hello, the iFly Max 8 just came out for MSFS 2024.  They warned that 3rd party apps might not work, but I did try and when MCE connects the top of the interface window says "Copilot Listening...On ATCCOM.ATC_NAME...".  Then, when I issue a command, the co-pilot repeats it back but nothing happens in the cockpit.  Do you know if that is an issue with the plane or is it something with my MCE install?  I uninstalled the old version through windows and downloaded the latest from the link I had (it is version 3.1.31) and installed in the default location.  Thanks.

PS - I have ATC disabled

The iFly 737 Max is interfaced using the iFly SDK, itself requiring a specific exe file named "iFly MAX8 Plugin 2024" (not sure whether it's the same as "iFly MAX8 Plugin" which was previously there for MSFS 2020)to be running.

It's possible, when you installed the plane into MSFS 2024 and were given the option to automatically start that app, you declined. In that case, you would need to manually start it.

Will be installing and testing in due course.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

It turned out a very small fix was needed to get the plane supported under MSFS 2024.

Get the latest patch

Manually replace a single file inside \Multi Crew Experience\ installation folder and it should be all good now.

Thanks, it is working for me now.  Appreciate the quick response.

Outstanding support as always.  I noted this the other day as well, and figured I'd give it a few weeks.  Took a few days 😁.  Thanks!

Moving to msfs 2024 soon so all the flows I made in 2020 for the fenix a320 the beast fbw a380 pmdg 777 300 all should be ok when I make the move. I going to grab the ifly 737 is there something I should know about installing this bird in msfs2024. I want my birds all up and running with mce.

Would appreciate if you could advise Burge on the iFly 737 in MSFS 2024. Probably not visiting forum, hopefully this post gets to you through Avsim notification. Thanks

Hello!  Nothing special needs to be done with the iFly; it and MCE will work together in 2024 "out of the box".  Naturally you'll need to define any custom checklists or flows the same as you would for any other aircraft.

The only bug I can think of involves MCE starting the Leap engines on the Max, and I think I'm at least one or two versions out of date with MCE so it may be fixed already.  I've not been simming much all summer though so I haven't updated MCE so take this with a grain of salt.  There was an iFly update a while back though that adjusted the motoring times on the Leap engines and that seemed to confuse MCE and he never would add fuel.  I would just reach down and flip the start lever to idle myself.  May be fixed in newer versions of MCE though.
