August 26, 201114 yr Lately I've been wanting to fly in Mexico and have been trying to locate the three FlyMex versions that used to be available. They were the North, Central, and Southern editions. I saw that Flight1 has the CDRom versions advertised but it doesn't appear to be available any longer. Aerosoft has a newer version but it seems that its the Central version only. Ironically, I like to fly (mostly) in the desert north western region from Mazatlan to Cabo. So if you know where to buy the three editions, (or even just the northern edition), please let me know and thanks!Mark
August 26, 201114 yr These guys have them all.... http://www.thresholdaviation.com/categories/Flight-Simulation/Software/Scenery/ Al Stiff
August 26, 201114 yr Author Thanks for that...Interesting, I think I know why they still have them too. Have you seen what they're charging for one of them? $50.60 for only the Northern Edition and that's in U.S. dollars. Add shipping and I feel like I am taking a ride! The reason I was trying to hunting these down is because they're not the highest quality airports nor were they ever billed as such. They provided a better then default airport with very low frame rates and at a reasonable price. So I suppose Canada has been hit hard during the economic downturn, or maybe it's because they are in the short-final path at CYYZ and they have really high insurance...eh ?Thanks regardless...Mark
August 28, 201114 yr Mark, Take a look at this site www.flymex.com.mxI don't speak Spanish (I am from Belgium) but as I understand the site, You can buy them as download for about 35 USD...To be honest, I am waiting for a friend of mine who speaks Spanish to translate a few of the pages because I am also interested in buying them. August 29, 201114 yr Author Thanks Luc! I went to their site but didn't see a download version. Do you remember where it was by any chance?Mark
August 29, 201114 yr Author Yep...I saw that page but it appears to be a CDROM version. I thought that maybe Luc had a bead on a downloadable version but its not showing. Thanks though!!!Mark
August 29, 201114 yr Mark, My mistake though. As I said, my spanish is lousy (I understand one word in ten) and I thought it was a choice you have to make (download versus cd-rom). BUt you are right, I only find the cd-rom version too.In the mean time I found out that I have one of the sceneries already in my collection (central). To buy at a rate of 50 $ is indeed a bit steep (shipping to Europe would cost me a fortune on top of the buying price) Sorry for the confusion Luc BrusselmansBelgium
August 30, 201114 yr Author You're OK Luc!!! So Spanish would be your third language (at least)...better then me. Yeah, $50.00 dollars plus shipping is very steep for that package. There are enough freeware airports that can fill most of northern Mexico. I can also shell out a few bucks for a pro rendition of Cabo.Regardless, it's still fun to start from Puerto Vallarta and work my way up the coast. Interestingly, most of the airports are between one and two hundred miles apart. Most of them are at or around sea level and many of the airports have runways which are built in nearly the same direction. In other words, navigation is a piece of cake. I think it's fun to plan a bunch of hops and practice many takeoffs and landings. If you can get some decent scenery and have about six to eight hours, it's a very pleasant way to spend a day. Good clean fun and you get to have your own FS9 Northern Mexico marathon :)Mark
