August 26, 201114 yr Hi there! After flying the Jetstream quite intense for a longer period I moved to other aircrafts to learn which now ended in the NGX. The best thing you can say about her is that she is nearly bugfree and fully functional from the start- seldom thing these days.Well after flying her every day now since she's been out I thought- well maybe get the J41 out of the hangar again for some short hops.But.. loading her in FS (choosing the aircraft in the menu) now always causes a CTD. This wasn't the case when I last used her. In the earlier days there were also many problems getting the FMC to work as well as graphic glitches and other CTDs which some of you might know very well. So, PMDG, please- with the knowledge you gained in the NGX- please make the J41 more stable with SP2 if possible. The NGX works just perfectly every time again and didn't crash one time. And add the holding function in the FMC.. Thank you for your great aircrafts.. I'm going to fly know. Regards. August 27, 201114 yr Hmm, I haven't tried switching between the PMDG J41 or 737NGX (or vice-versa) in the sim yet. I've been avoiding it because I figured some nasty things like you described would happen! I think the only safe way to switch between the NGX and J41 is a quick reboot of FSX. For me, the best stability regarding the J41 is fresh start of FSX, set location weather etc, load up in default 172, shut down engine, then boot up J41. Do a quick cold and dark procedure. When I follow these steps I get no problems. Patrick Houghton
August 27, 201114 yr Author Don't get me wrong, I have this problems now even with a clean startup- PC boot, start FS, choose J41, CTD. Don't know if it's somehow related to FS2Crew or the Jetstream itself, but since I didn't change anything to the J41 config there must me some shared files which cause the troubles. Before (5 months or so) it worked fine. I'm starting FSX with the 172 as a standard flight and then switch. Regards. Matthias Hanel MilViz Beta Team
August 28, 201114 yr Hello, I don't know if this will help you but I had a similar problem with the MD-11 recently. In case it's the same issue that you're having, you may want to check my thread and see if the solutions helps: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/345769-selecting-md-11-crashes-fsx/ - Richard
