Hi I will like to know if a flight can be save using the pmdg 737ngx. without having to use the default cessna 172.

AFAIK, you don't need to access the default cessna when you load a saved flight. They even warn not to do it in the intro document.I use saved flights plenty of times, I just go straight to the saved file and things work out great!
