Looking to replace an aging laptop with a slightly less aging model. What's the difference between C2D and Core Due CPUs?

There are Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Solo CPUs by Intel. C2D means Core 2 Duo. I assume your reference to Core Due should be Core 2 Duo.
