September 9, 201114 yr Author Are you pressing APP before you're actually receiving a GS signal? That will cause it too - it's going to go to G/P unless there's actually an ILS glideslope signal tuned. Well, I don't think that applies here, but maybe I'm wrong. I always select VOR/LOC first, and once captured I then select Approach. Isn't the VOR/LOC signal and GS signal simultaneously tuned? If so, then once the localizer was captured with a green annunication, then it should be safe to select Approach for GS guidance. I was quite aways out I admit, but not so far as to where the radio signal wasn't received. Curt Branch
September 9, 201114 yr Hi Curt, You are right. however the GS signal extends to atleast 10nm. which means you cannot really rely on it when you are 20nm out. Try intercept at 3000agl and switch the ND selector from NAV to APP. This will give you the true GS. the PFD will display the GP if it cannot recieve any GS signal (or too weak) regards, Martin DahlerupMy rig contains a random selection of computer parts working in perfect harmony.... I hold a EASA fATPL + A320 SIC rating and a FAA CPL with CFI rating.

You were correct Ryan, sorry I doubted you. Curt Branch
