FSX will not go back to full screen mode after OC!

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me why FSX will not enter full screen after I OC'd my computer? When I set FSX in window mode using the (ALT+ENTER) and I tried to exit back to full screen, I would just get a black screen. It has no problem getting into Windows mode. I've only notice this problem on the last few OC's I've checked (4.2 4.3 & 4.4) 4.1GHZ FSX ran fine. I have NickN & Bojote's settings applied. My spec's are: ASUS RAMPAGE III EXTREMEI7 980X @ 4.4GHZCORSAIR DOMINATOR GT2000EVGA GTX 580SC (non OC Drv 275.33)WIN 7 PRO 64

You didn't by chance install the ENB mod did you? That will do that. Only thing I can think of is that your clock is not stable. I have my 980 at 4.43 and have no issues - same driver 175.33 -only I'm on a 480. Try keeping the high clock but remove all of Bojote's settings - see if that changes anything. If it works - then start adding the changes back, one at a time. Vic

FSX is a great tool for proving overclock stability, I thought i had mine stable, now that i upped my ram bolts a touch it seems fine. I have had moments running prime 95 fr half hr, no issue, run fsx 30 secs, crash. You have an unstable clock. Simple as that.

Also, the BEST test for a clock on an FSX system is OCCT as it tests the CPU/memory subsystem far better than P95 or any other. This is more in line with the type of stress that FSX provides the system. If you can run OCCT for an hour, you should be good to go. Vic
