OC freezing

Featured Replies

Usng Easy Tune, I boosted my computer up to 4.1 but am now having total system freezes. I OC'd it yesterday and its has now happened 3 times. A couple of times it froze at random while on the internet. It just happened for the third time in the middle of a defrag. The mouse and keyboard are useless and I'm forced to shutdown. All the defrag activity was frozen as well, so its more than just a loss of peripherals. Problems keep adding up for me. Any ideas?

Don't use Easy Tune. Do all the OCing stuff in the BIOSStress test and don't do any defraging or installing programs if you're not 110% your OC is stable, your Vcore is safe and your temps are in check

If your MB has dual-boot BIOS, save your OC'd BIOS only for FSX and do all your PC Maintenance nad new program installs with the non-OC'd BIOS as dazz sugests. Cheers, - jahman.

I would still try to get to a stable OC before doing too much installing and such. Too bany BSODs can corrupt a windows install.

Shocked.gif More stuff for me to learn. Thanks guys. Someone suggested I use Easy Tune just to see if even a slight OC would solve the stutters. Sort of a quick test. I might be able to get a job in computers after all the time I'm spending in the hardware forums.
