Decision Height - Where do you enter it?

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone: Can someone please remind me where you enter the DH in the 737NGX - I mean, like, where is it? The overhead panel somewhere, the throttle console? Thanks, Chris Catalano

knob to the left of barometer on the EFIS display panel.

Hi Chris ! Are you talking about setting your minimums ?

Yes - my minimums. It says on page 74 of the tutorial to:

"Set the landing minimums by clicking the outer EFIS control

panel MINS knob to its RADIO setting and then turning thesmaller inner knob down to 100 feet radio altitude" I don't t even see the MINS knob to to even set it to RADIO. I am a bit lost I guess...Then I am not sure which knob to turn after that... Thanks again. Chris

It's the knob on the left above the Range knob, mode selector knob etc for the navigation display. The panel to the right of the master warning lights. Top left knob out of the 4.

See page 587 of the Fcom Vol 2 manual !!Click to select Baro or Radio and the mouse wheel to change the value. It will display on your PFD. ( Radio at the top or Baro at the bottom)

The knob is 2 knobs in one. One will switch between Baro/radio and the other will set the height.

OK - I see it now. But for the record, my minimums are with the Radio Altimeter or the BARO? Which one? Also, it seems that the RA defaults starting at 7,000 feet or so. I need only 100, so dialing down is taking forever. The reset button seemed only to make the data disappear, but when I started dialing again, it resumed at 7000 ft. Any ideas? Thanks everyone. Chris

Are you at 7000ft when you start dialling?

That problem has been fixed with the latest Hotfix 3.It is a pinned topic at the top of the forum. You can use either Baro or Radio !Most peolple use Radio.
