Uninstall licenses before Hardware update?

Featured Replies

I will upgrade my FS PC soon. Both MOBO and CPU will change. I expect to have to reinstall Windows, as well as all software. Is there a procedure to uninstall my MD-11 and NGX licenses before upgrading, or will I be able to Activate the software on the "new" machine without problems? Vidar

There shouldn't be any problems

I'm doing exactly the same in a few days. At the moment I can't OC my i7 860 due to the OEM Windows 7, because it's an Acer. So I'm getting a new MOBO (MSI P55-GD85), and then OC my i7 860 to 4+ GHz, with also a CPU Air Cooler installed. If you have a pc like Acer, HP, DELL etc. you'll have to reïnstall Windows. And yes, the licences will be fine, no need to uninstall. I already reïnstalled my MD-11 three times, and never had any problems. Your key won't get blacklisted that easily.

Its not windows that stops overclocking, it's the manufacturers (Dell, acer) locking the bios so it can't be overclocked (meaning the settings are hidden)

I replaced my mb & CPU about a week ago. There were no activation issues with the ngx.
