Can not link to FSUIPC

Featured Replies

I am running FSX and a long time ago I purchased RC4 and installed and it worked. I haven't used it in months and now tonight when I tried to run RC4, I get an error saying CAN NOT LINK TO FSUIPC and it aborts. I use FSUIPC for other apps like iFly 737 which I just bought. I believe my FSUIPC is the latest free ver or close to it. I tried re-installing RC4 but I get the same error. Please let me know what other info you need so I can get this resolved. Thanks. Joe

The usual problem is that FS needs to be started and your aircraft loaded at the gate with avionics running for FSUIPC to become available. If you are on VISTA or Win 7 RC should be started with a shortcut and its properties set to Run As Admin. That allows RC to communicate with FS utilities that FS uses within the Windows process messaging systems. Setting this property gives RC the program level security privileges it needs to get to FS processes including FSUIPC. The other problem might be that Win security or other add-on security packages are blocking RC out of FS communications via Win. Be sure RC is set as a safe application in your security systems.

Thank you. I started FSX and then started RC4 and it worked. I guess I need to reread the owners manual again! THanks! Joe
