September 21, 201114 yr How do the SIDs/STARs work in Version 6? I realize ATC will assign you one when leaving/arriving the airport, and I assume it would be by name. Is it based on which direction you are going to/coming from, the runways in use, or both? Is it up to you to look up the SID/STAR and fly it correctly, or does ATC vector you along the SID/STAR? Finally, can the SID/STAR database be updated when things change with the procedures? I love flying casually in a Cessna 172 to explore, plus I love to tie it all in with creative stories. September 21, 201114 yr Hi. Version 6 uses the Navigraph FMS data for the Level D 767, so yes, it can be updated monthly. It picks the SID/STAR based on the runway in use. You just need to include the transition point as part of your flight plan do give Vox a clue.I use FSC for my flight plans and include a SID/STAT as part of it.If I get the wind direction wrong or it changes or Vox chooses a different runway; then Vox will choose the correct procedure. So, it's great that you will always have the correct procedure.I hope that helps.Chris
