September 22, 201114 yr Hi All, I am currently flying DL356 MRLB - KATL. I am out over the Gulf of Mexico right now and I just noticed something odd. I went to the Spot view to just have a look around and when I hit "S" again to go to the cabin view, it wasn't there nor were any other exterior views. So, when I hit S once, I go to spot view and when I hit it again, I'm back at the VC. My guess is that's because I'm so far from land, there are no towers or land areas to view the plane from that are near enough. Anyway, upon returning to the VC, I noticed the panel was unresponsive. The plane was still flying, but I could not manipulate any of the gauges. I could turn knobs, but they didn't have effect. One trick I had noticed before to unstick a freeze was to cycle through the VC views (A key). In this case, that again unfroze the displays. So being brave, I went to the spot view again. When I returned to the VC, it was frozen. A quick cycle through the views brought it back. So, I don't know if it's the fact that there are no other outside views to see or if it's just that I've been in the air for 2 1/2 hours but there is definitely something funny happening on long flights. I know this has been talked to death...but maybe someone could benefit from knowing the cycling through views trick.... Adam Adam Hill
September 23, 201114 yr I don't think it's time related. I've completed flights of almost 5 hours, and also made a complete rotation of about 3 hours per leg, with a 45 minute stop in between, with no problems. This panel freeze issue is a real mystery. I hope PMDG got enough info on it to fix it. Cristi Neagu
September 23, 201114 yr This is the one caused by being out of range of any towers (usually when out over the ocean) so on cycling views using S it can't show a tower view, on return to the cockpit the panel's frozen and can be unfrozen by cycling through the 2D panel view. They do know about this one and believe they have found the solution. It's another symptom of the problem that causes other addons like the LDS to lose their 2D panel when out over oceans if you cycle outside and back again but in this case it's a missing rather than frozen panel. Again fixed by cycling views. My 747 does it too. No great issue with either on that one, just a flick of the hat switch fixes it for the 2D panels. It's caused by the same out of range of a Tower issue. Bill Casey
